George Duggan

Group Vice President, Coal Business Group
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp (BNSF)

George Duggan was promoted to the position of group vice president, Coal Business Group, in February 2014. In this role, he is responsible for leading BNSF's coal sales and marketing team. George began his career in the railroad industry with the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Company in 1978 in the management training program. From there, he worked in various positions and locations in the operating department, including trainmaster and terminal superintendent. Duggan joined the Burlington Northern, a BNSF predecessor, as a grain specialist in 1990. He then assumed roles with increasing responsibilities in EquipmentManagement, Customer Service and Finance. After Burlington Northern merged with Santa Fe in 1995, Duggan served in a variety of leadership roles in the Field Marketing, Minerals and Chemicals business units. In 1998, Duggan was appointed vice president, Chemicals, and in March 2001 was named vice president, Industrial Products Sales. He was later appointed vice president, DomesticIntermodal, where he was responsible for BNSF's sales and marketing activities for the Domestic Intermodal business unit.
