Martin Downey is currently the Director of the Bulk Terminal and Operational Engineering at Bristol Port Company. The Bristol Port Company is one of the UK's largest Coal Handling Terminals, handling a capacity of 6million tonnes per annum at its peak. The Terminal is continually undergoing expansion and development and is more recently looking to handle Biomass. Martin has significant experience in the Bulk Industry presently handling a variety of bulk, but mainly Coal, Animal feedstuffs, Salt, Aggregate and Grain from transhipment, unloading, storage to reloading. Experienced in the commercial logistics and demographics of the UK Coal Market. Martin previously held positions as General Manager of one of the UK's largest ‘SuperQuarrys' and for the NorthWest Region for Cemex. He was in the Quarrying Industry for 14 years and is knowledgeable in all aspects of aggregate extraction, processing, distribution and marketing with further experience of coated materials, the recycling of secondary aggregates and landfilling of waste.
