James Chisholm

James is a qualified engineer who has worked in the engineering, oil, gas and mining sectors for the past 30 years. He began his career as an engineer working on coal mine projects in 1985, and then moved into iron ore, steel and aluminium projects. After a number of years in engineering roles, James set up his own business and provided strategy development, market research and M&A consulting in the mining and engineering sectors. This led to various investments in mining projects. In 2008/09 he co-founded TheChairmen1 Pty Ltd, which sold its assets to a subsidiary, Guildford Coal and listed on the ASX as Guildford Coal Ltd (ASX: GUF). With Russell Moran, he then established Ebony Coal Ltd, a thermal coal exploration company. With Gary Gynn, he established Fertoz Ltd (ASX: FTZ) which is involved in the exploration and development of rock phosphate projects, primarily in Canada. Around the same time, he acquired a magnetite stockpile and backed it into Strategic Minerals PLC (AIM: SML). Russell then asked James to invest in and become Chairman of Atrum Coal NL (ASX: ATU) a company with the world's largest high grade, ultra-high grade anthracite resource. Most of James's work is now in Canada.
