Janusz Piechociński was born on 15 March 1960 in Studzianki Pancerne (Mazowsze). He graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), Faculty of Economics of Trade and Services. In years 1987-1999 he was a scientific staff member at SGH and his focus was on economic history of the 20th century, history of the economic education and the European integration. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Polish People's Party. A keen mushroomer - quite often you can meet him in Lasy Chojnowskie forests. He is passionate about football and volleyball. His favourite dessert is apple pie with ice. A deputy of the Polish Parliament (I, II, IV, VI and VII parliamentary terms). In years 1991-1997 he was a member of the parliamentary budget and finance commission. In years 1992-1993 he was a chairman of the special commission for combating economic frauds. He was also a deputy chairman of the Commission for the Reform of the Economic Centre. In years 2000-2001 he was a member of the Prime Minister National Council for the European Integration. Later on he was a chairman of the Infrastructure Commission. Now he is a member of the parliamentary commissions for infrastructure and innovativeness and modern technologies. He was twice elected as a member of the regional parliament of the Mazowsze region where he was a chairman of the budget, finance and environment protection commissions. In years 1999-2001 he was a chairman of the Regional Fund for Environment Protection and Water Management in Warsaw. He was a social president of the National Ecological and Social Movement. He is married and has three children.
