Asia's consumption of coal continues to accelerate while Indonesia is set to increase its production of thermal coal by 15% this year. Considering nearly 65% of Indonesia's total coal resources is of low rank quality, the shift to production of low rank coals means upgrading technologies have never been more important. This specialised Coaltrans event will explore the potential offered by new upgrading technologies, the preferences of the end user and the perspective of the coal producers, to assist you in exploiting the increasing availability of different grades of coal. Coaltrans’ 2nd Upgrading Coal will examine new upgrading coal and coal gasification technologies, and coal bed methane (CBM) projects which provide solutions to using lower grade coals and thus ensuring market outlets for coal resources.
